It has been a stressful week and the bus will not be with me. I do have the supplies we need for your windshield Greg and two type 4 long blocks to tear down and determine the best parts for my rebuild.
I am also bringing the chips. _________________ 73 Typ481

So once again we come to the end of a tech weekend spent at Jake's. I am worn out, better educated, and further along on my new bus engine than I thought I would be.
If I was as productive everyday as I am at Jake's I would finish many more projects each year. It does help that I am not at home to be interupted by normal daily stuff. It would also help to live off of Mnt. Dew and Reese's Peanutbutter cups like Jake does.
Kris and Clyde took Kris's bug all apart and put it back together again.
It sounds like it is running like it should and it even has bumper stops now. But, tell me again; why did the clutch cable have to be CUT off?
Greg's bus got a nice new fiberglass addition to stop some leakage and a new windshield gasket installed. There was NO breakage for which Greg was very grateful. (Did ya'll know Greg can get really wound-up and fidgety? )
Thanks Jake for another great time at your place. We are really grateful for your time and the use of your facilities. The Bar-b-que was good and waking up to watch the sun rise in the mountains is always a great way to start the day. Thanks again. _________________ 73 Typ481

Had a great time and got a lot done myself! Oil changes in all my daily cruisers, got a 220HP 356 shortblock finished, fitted a new steering wheel to the black car and got the VW tractor up and going again...
Always great to have you guys up and you always take care of my place like it was your own. The crowd was perfect sized to get things done and still have fun!
We'll do it again next year and pray for weather that was as good as this weekend was! _________________ Jake Raby

I really liked shooting stuff. I think it relaxed me a bit. I was really happy about finishing Kris' car on time. The car show in NC was healthy. 5 hours each way, and it was super windy all day at the track.
Thanks Jake, for your shared knowledge and hospitality. And being generous with your ammo.
I can't wait to go to work Monday so I can rest. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Shooting stuff is always relaxing... Especially when firing the largest handguns in the world with Raby hand loaded munitions :-) _________________ Jake Raby

Lots of fun and always educatonal. Attendance was down this year but it felt like we got more acomplished. Thanks to Jake for hosting and providing the fiberglass, crud cutter etc....pretty much everything I should have brought. Bu the way, I never thought I'd get so sore from me and Mike watching everyone work so hard
Windshield seal is still in (along with the windshield) and is looking good. There were a couple times I was sure I was going to need to find Clyde for a replacement screen but the old one held. whew! Fidgety, nah, just really expressive with my anxiety Looks like the old saying is right....it takes a village to install a windshield.
Glad to see Jon finally made some progress on that engine. It should look good in my bus when it's finished. _________________ 1969 Beetle

I had a great time as well. Wasn't too helpful due to nasty sinus problems, but managed to lend a hand once or twice. Thanks Jake, your hospitality is much appreciated. I was able to dial in my scope and shoot one HELL on a hand cannon!
