I think I'm going to need an electrician before this weather event is over. I have a dead pine leaning over the power line coming to my house from the road. I called Walton EMC yesterday, they came, looked at it, and then drove off. They said that truck wasn't equipped to remove it. Did they come back equipped?????...hell no! They moved us down the list to come back later! Well we called again because the tree is breaking in this weather and will likely come down on my line and when it does, it will rip my mast and meter box off the end of my house. I know from past experience that EMC will only hook up the power to my house after an electrician has reinstalled my mast and box.
So, in a pre-emptive measure, I am looking for an electrician who will come and do my repair, should/when I need him.
Thanks for any suggestions. _________________ 73 Typ481

Even if they come remove it, it may have already injured the wires attaching into the weather head and you may not be able to tell it. If just one leg of the power has a crappy connection the lights and etc will still work, but may be dim.
If that happens turn everything off, because the low amperage/ voltage will kill everything in the house, to include your HVAC! Just watch for dim lights and if that happens, kill the main ASAP.
I have had this happen twice at the shop! I had the power company pull the line and I replaced the weather head and etc myself, then they reconnected it. Its not hard to do. _________________ Jake Raby

I have used Chris Fowells (706-340-1721) and he did a great job for a fair price. I had him wire my garage for more amps when I bought the MIG welder; he also has done light industrial work for a friend of mine. _________________ 1965 Beetle |

Thanks for the responses! So far the tree of impending doom and destruction is still intact. I really hope Walton EMC shows up tomorrow and takes it down. _________________ 73 Typ481
