Started working on seat parts. Got the top parts of the front passenger seat painted. Some of the springs on the spring part were broken. Dad said to look up how to fix it online but apparently no one else has ever had this problem, or they just didn't post anywhere online how to repair this problem.
So I went out to the garage to see if I could find something springy. I had a couple extra early shifters so I cleaned one of the reverse springs up nicely and wedged it into the seat and it seems to work just fine.
Yes, that paint on the frame is the official silver beige from Wolfsburg West and I can say it is some of the best spray paint I've ever used. I first put a coat of self etching primer on it though. The cheap primer from Harbor Freight, that too is some great primer.

That looks great! Of the many tasks I've done on my car, upholstery was one of my favorites. Challenging, and my work is far from perfect, but it looks great and was worth the time and effort. Btw, I have a DVD from JBugs that is dated but quite helpful for upholstery and headliner, if you'd like to borrow it. _________________ 1965 Beetle |

I have a whole bunch of NOS rubber, door handles and etc for a 63 that I won't be needing. I'll make you a deal on it. This is good stuff, more than 20 years old, but still perfect. _________________ Jake Raby
