|
|
Riley (our black male dog) decided he was not feeling good Sunday evening @ around 9 pm. - (Probably depressed due to Volkstock being over!!) After a quick check we identified that his gut was the size of a balloon and as hard as a rock.
Thanks Clyde for Chris Klein's # and thanks Chris for the returned call as Inge and I were in route to the Watkinsville Emergency Veterinary Hospital last night. The vets there determined that Riley's stomach had turned/twisted over on itself and was causing bloat. If left untreated we would have lost our boy.
It was advised he needed surgery in order to determine how bad it was and to un-restrict his stomach. He went under the knife @ midnite and we got the call @ 3 am that it was a success. We picked him up before they closed this am (7:30 am) and had to bring him to our vet so they could monitor him post surgery. We got the call @ 5 pm from our vet that we could pick him up and bring him home. No Frisbee's and no squirrel chasing for a minimum of 2 weeks.
We are just thankful we have our boy alive and on the road to recovery. He is now resting peacefully at home with mom and dad.
That was a heck of a way to end a fantastic weekend with all of you.
Sleep well Riley!!

Hey...there's my high dollar engine dolly. I'll figure out a time to roll by after work in Winder. Thanks... _________________ "A vision without a task is a dream - a task without a vision is drudgery- but a task with vision can change the world."
