I was given a lowes gift card for Christmas to purchase a set of ratcheting wrenches:) I went to look today and couldn't decide what I wanted. The wrenches are Kobalt brand with a lifetime warranty. They had a 7 piece set of ratcheting wrenches 50% off at 29.99 They also had a 8 piece set of flex end ratcheting wrenches (The ratcheting side can bend out 90 degrees) for 89.99. Can anybody think of a VW job or ever needed the flex end wrenches for anything? If they're useful its worth the extra amount to me, but if I can save the money, I can get the tach/dwell meter I've been wanting with the savings.
I went ahead and grabbed 2 sets of the 7 piece non-flex wrenches while they were on sale. If I decide based on everyones comments to go with the flex end wrenches I'll return them. I grabbed the extra set in case anyone else was interested (50% off seemed like a bargain). Thoughts or anyone interested in a set? |

the more options you have, as far a hand tools, the better. With that being said....not sure I've ever used one in my (limited) experience. _________________ 1969 Beetle

They might come in handy taking your Kadron manifolds off. |

I use my flex head gear wrenches a lot. Not too much on my VW's but mostly working on my F150 & F350. _________________ Give me a salad & a PBR please |

I've never needed one. 1/4" drive swivel sockets are really helpful. 10mm and 13mm have come in really handy. 13 for fuel pumps, the dist clamp hold down nut, and dual port intake end castings. 10 for single port intake manifolds. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam
