Hey all,
Was hoping to start coming out for more club meetings, local events, etc., but as luck would have it I no sooner get my car on the road (after 6+ years) then I find myself having to work weekends much of the time (argh!).
However . . . .
I've got my sights set on driving the Beetle up to Bug-a-Paluza this year. (I'll call off sick from work if I have to!) Is there any talk of a "treffen"-like drive up and/or back from East Ridge? If so, I'm very interested and motivated . . . . _________________ 1965 Beetle |

Bruce several of us usually drive up together on Friday.(also home on Sunday) We need to get organized and this is a good way to start.
We typically leave Athens Friday morning and meet a couple of other folks at the CVS in Oakwood. We take Hwy 53 up to almost Dalton and hit 75 there.
At this point I plan to drive my bus, but if I can't get my gas leak fixed the bus will stay home.
Who else is going up Friday? _________________ 73 Typ481

I'm definitely attending! Trying to organize my schedule to leave early Friday, but I'll be there Friday evening at the latest. My dad is planning on bringing the rv and hang out with us all weekend. It also can serve as a meeting place should the bug-a palooza weather pattern continue. He's pulling in first thing Friday morning. Augusta boys, is it true y'all are consider skipping out? It won't be the same without you. |

I will be there Friday afternoon. Camping at the Best Western. Probably driving the F350 as I need to get some tires at Coker tires on Friday. _________________ Give me a salad & a PBR please |

I've checked the Camp Jordan website but am a little unclear -- has anyone tent-camped there before? Ie, are there showers/facilities available? Still unsure whether I'll camp or motel it, but this info will help me decide.
Also, I am totally flexible, time-wise. My main goal is to participate and have a good time. So whatever the group decides, I'm in.

We have all tent camped there and some will be again this year.
There are port-a-lets and a couple of real bathrooms on the property. They are building a brand new bath house right now, but it is unclear as to whether or not it will be finished for us. There is a shower bus that works well.
We have yet to determine our departure time, but it will probably be around 8:00am Friday.

Thanks for the intel, Jon. Am leaning on camping, then -- Lord knows I spend enough time in hotels, plus it would be cool to be "on the scene". _________________ 1965 Beetle |

I'm all for leaving later, love me some early morning, as long as it starts at 12pm, heck I'm still trying to get all my stuff to fit in the beetle this year _________________ 1969 Beetle
