The windshield wipers on Sunshine weren't working very well, as was told by the speed. The higher setting was actually faster than the lower setting. So, out came the motor and frame to be disassembled, degreased, cleaned, regreased, and reassembled. All went well and now they work just as they should! Also, got the "No Worries" emblem on. All good!

Until today... I get about seven miles away from school, and my passenger side ball joint breaks, sending me into the goodwill parking lot to wait for a tow truck. I got there, but geez... It's no fun being stranded. but at least my windshield wipers work, right?

Thanks, me too! It happened suddenly, but I've been taught well enough to know to get off the road and do something about any problem. Gotta love 'em.

good job.....never had it happen but I've heard it can be exciting. Did you figure out how to get the wipers to park correctly? I may have to do this at some point myself.

I'm pretty sure I figured out how to park them. You may want to turn them on (with or without the blades) before you disassemble, and stop them at the lowest point, before the next "swish" across the windshield. Then proceed to take out the wiper motor and frame, making sure the wires are marked properly. Not sure it's the same for all, but the frame had to come off for me to get the main gear out. Be sure to take plenty of pictures of the gear's position before taking it out for cleaning. When it goes back in, the circular metal plate on the gear must be oriented the same way as when it came out in relation to the body that holds it in place.

If everything is cleaned, regreased, and reassembled as it should be, it should work much better. Maybe not perfectly, but definitely better. Hope this helps!

Nice write up son! I bet Greg can now proceed with confidence.

Now you can document the ball joint and tie-rod end replacement you did. Very Happy

Although the video games are fun, work must be done!
