ok sounds great-thanks for your advice on the gear oil--lot of debate using synth on hds--the synth we use actually replaces engine oil instead of 20/50 , transmission oil and primary oil. THE 20/50 HARLEY DAVIDSON OIL IS DIFFERENT THEN CAR 20/50 IT SAYS IT FOR AIR COOLED MOTORCYCLES--I WANT TO TRY IT IN THE BUG BEING AIRCOOLED -I WANT TO DO SOME RESEARCH ON IT. the service guy at work says he has run car 20/50 and saw no diff-but you would think the mc oil would be better for hotter runnung motors such as air cooled-- as it is stated on the bottle--and we use it after break -in -period- ANYONE HAVE ANY COMMENTS LET US KNOW!!! THANKS |

There was a thread on here in the past where Jake gave a detailed report on some very extensive testing that he had done in the lab on using synthetic oils. Tearing down the engine after each test and measuring wear etc. I can't find it now but perhaps someone else knows where to find it. _________________ Ya can't have too many VDUBS.

Been there.
Its designed for newer Harley engines that use roller cams and lifters.. It won't help your flat tappet VW engine. _________________ Jake Raby
