How about a tech day on "how to narrow a front beam andinstall adjusters"? I may could supply a good welding machine and maybe even a welder. |

I'm not sure we have anyone that could lead that one. _________________ 73 Typ481

The adjusters are no big deal. But you need fixtures to narrow a beam and put it back together straight. That's why a narrowed beam costs so much. And the liability involved. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

I have done it.. The jig is simple to make to keep the beam straight, but this job isn't for the faint of heart.. And a cheap mig welder from Home Depot won't cut it either... Your safety is dependent upon those cuts and welds.
And narrowing the beam is only acceptable for a "performance upgrade" if it is being done so wider tires with a bigger foot print are going to be installed..
if you do it to look cool, like the BK boys, then you are sacrificing safety for a look (a stupid look at that!)
But some people like their VW to look like a Farm All tractor.. _________________ Jake Raby
