Yeah...our neighbor (Mr Seymour) is a real nice guy. I think his son has a shop too. Maybe they can help with a tow and a repair.

Jake is staying in Cleveland tonight and I know zip about a burned out clutch Confused

Another example of VW folks helping VW folks...even if it is a Nissan that needs the help.

Steve said it smelled like the clutch was burned up and he could not get it into any gear.

Ironically, Steve broke down at the same bank after the Poker Run year before last. (if running out of gas counts as breaking down) Laughing

Thanks again for the help. Mr. Seymour is gonna tow the car to Athens in the morning.

The story is Kellie's cousin Jennifer that lives with us was coming home from visiting her mom in Rabun and her clutch burned out (Nissan 200sx). She broke down at the same spot that I ran out of gas last year coming home from the Poker Run Embarassed

Kellie posted the help cry from her iphone while we were on the way up to rescue Jen. We saw Jake and Beth's replies and I called Mr. Seymour and told him that he was recommended by the Raby's. He gonna cut us a deal to tow back to town in the morning.

I really appreciate the quick reply! It pays to have internet junkie local car friends!

I tried to get the car in gear (5speed) by rocking back and forth from all forward gears to reverse to no avail. Time for a new clutch!

Cool!
Glad he was able to help you... Thats the hardest working 86 year old you'll ever meet!! He gets up at 0300 and drives to Atlanta to make calls with the tow truck if need be!!

Glad you got it taken care of... But something probably led to the clutch frying.. Unless the face of the disc ripped off out of the blue..

Start it up in gear and power shift all the way home.. Match the revs with the gears and you won't need the clutch.. LOL
