We have two type 4's. One case # is CV039300 and the other is GE037883.

What year are they and which one would be the best to build ?

Thanks in advance.

OK...
CV039300 is from a 80-82 Vanagon
GE037883 is from a 78-79 bus
Both are 2.0L 70 HP w/ hydraulic lifters

As far as I know, they are pretty much the same. I would check
with Jake as far as which one is more desirable to build.

The CV case should be avoided IF you intend to convert the engine to upright cooling..

The GE case is OK for upright cooling, but the engine is a Hydro 2.0
