MY COOLING FAN HUMS AT AROUND 40MPH.IS THIS NORMAL OR IS THERE A PROBLEM.IT IS A BRAND NEW FAN.IF ANYONE KNOWS WHY IT IS MAKING THIS NOISE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

It's probably runout on the face. Did you spin it and see if it wobbled before you installed it?

Also, fans are prone to cracking near the mounting area. Only way to check is to remove it from the generator.

I CHECKED IT BRFORE I PUT IT TOGETHER AND IT SEEMED FINE.IT IS A BRAND NEW FAN.DOES THE MOUNTING PLATE BETWEEN THE GENRATOR AND THE FAN HAVE TO BEE IN A CERTAIN POSITION.

If it's new it probably junk and has a ton of runout or isn't even close to being round.

Did it have a series of hoes in the center of it???
