Ok...looks like I will be getting these powdercoated. I know that factory correct is painted, but I am not out to have a 100 point car. They have been rattle can silver for as long as I can remember and I may go with a similar color but wondering what the correct color is. |

Hot Pink...umm maybe if I was going for the Barbie look.
White...I will have to think about this.
Can't believe that none of the Thing owners chimed in on this. |

L97U is the official designation. The mix specs are not usually available at any auto paint shop. It is basically a silver grey color. I used a Duplicolor silver metallic wheel paint in a rattle can followed by clear coat also in a rattle can. The clear coat is a SEM brand found at PPG paint dealer in Athens. Hope that helps. _________________ Ya can't have too many VDUBS.

It's more of a medium gloss. Not dull nor real shiney. _________________ Ya can't have too many VDUBS.
