right now, Marlena (my 67 Westy) is my only running & driving VW, except that I need to fix the front brakes (pulls really bad)
The vert is safely in the garage, as the top leaks so bad that it fills the floor with water whenever it rains. Talked to a guy in Cleveland about replacing it, but it will have to wait. Also, I need to replace the muffler with a new (to me) unit I got from Gary almost 3 years ago.
And, it needs a front wheel bearing, brake adjustment and a master cylinder.
I tried to fire up Corky last weekend, only to discover that the electric fuel pump has ceased to pump. Got a new (genuine, not a knockoff) Facet pump this week and hope to get it mounted this weekend. Finally stopped the oil leaks from the valve covers. Only other major issue is the
pedal cluster. The brake pedal doesn't return on its own, even with an additional spring. I got a good used one in Sevierville last year, so I will get it installed soon.
Due to the state of the economy (and my shrinking paycheck) those
Corbeau seats I've been wanting will have to wait a bit longer

Yeah, it was him. He's actually done some tops for the dealership. I'm certain he will be the one to do mine, whenever I get the $ together! _________________ 63 Beetle |
