hey all, got a question about wiper motors and switches.
on the way home from the meeting on sunday i used the wipers it worked for 2-3 wipes then nothing.

i pulled over and checked the fuses all are good and i did not loose lites, horn . but for a brief moment i did not have inner turn signals -but after about 2-3 minutes they were working again. sorry so long!! lol

now the wiper motor makes no noise when turning the switch to the on positions so my question is after looking at the fuses and did not see any wires off- WOULD I HEAR THE WIPER MOTOR MAKING A NOISE IF IT WAS BAD AND THE SWITCH IS GOOD OR NO NOISE = NO POWER = BAD SWITCH. I WILL CHECK FURTHER ABOUT MAYBE A WIRE OFF THIS WEEKEND WHEN I HAVE MORE TIME TO LOOK AT IT BETTER

Surface level answer, if you have a buzz, humm, etc from the motor, you have power. Voltmeter would help. Turn them on and try to pull the linkage under the bonnet or the wiper itself. If it breaks free or you get some inkling that it's trying, cut them off and inspect the motor. You can clean the stator field and armature very lightly with 2000g paper, the communicator with 800g and touch up or replace the brushes.

My father had the same issue and his was due to excess rust and rust dust built up on the armature shaft and ultimately clogging the brushes.

At least you're getting an "annual", not an "anal."
