|
This year's Poker Run will be on Saturday May 8. We will start around 10:00am. The exact time will be posted soon. This year's route will take us to some of our favorite stops from past runs. It will be a little shorter than last year and there won't be as many steep grades. Steve can post the route when he has a chance.
The host hotel this year is the Super 8. It is under the same managment as the Best Western and it is less expensive, plus they have an indoor pool. The rooms this year are $59.00 per night and they have a block of rooms reserved for us. 706 878 2191 is the number for reservations. Tell them you are with the Athens VW club. (smoking rooms and rooms with jacuzzis are available, but not in our block and jacuzzi rooms cost more)
More details coming soon. Please book your room as soon as you can.
We need sponsors! Cash or prizes accepted. A value of $50.00 or more will get you listed on our Poker Run shirt. Let me know if you want to be a sponsor. _________________ 73 Typ481

Sorry about not having the map done yet Ron. I've been slammed at work.
The stops are:
1. Fender's Diner - Cornelia
2. Antique Mall - Clarkesville
3. Tallulah Overlook - T Falls
cruise around Lake Rabun
4. Sautee Store - Sautee
5. R.A.T. (Jake's) - Cleveland
back to Helen
This route will be shorter than last year with a lot of twists, but no hills to climb.
It's guaranteed to be a blast! _________________ Steve

At this point, not very close. I have less than 10 registrations!
Tonight I will post the names of those who have registered and also list sponsors. Niether list is very long for being so close to May 8.
We need the names and shirts sizes ASAP. The money also helps so we can pay for the shirts and prizes. _________________ 73 Typ481
