Looks like Bruce wants to seal his gas tank, and we can do the door rebuild (scrapers, regulator, vent window seals, etc) on a vehicle or two.
Should we do it at my place (by the Athens Mall), or would it be more convenient at Bruce's? Duck lives in Gainesville, which is a bit far out, but if enough people want to do it there, and he's willing, I'm game.
The gas tank thing is a multi-day thing, so I think it should have the first step or two done already, so we can just focus on the sealing, turning it as often as the directions say.
Anyone have any other stuff they wanna do? _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

I would gladly have it at my place, 'cept for two things:
1. I live in a townhouse with only half of a garage and no driveway to speak of, and
2. My work in progress would be for all to see. She's really shy, looks like sh*t, and her owner is a moron whose boldness is easily matched by his idiocy.
But I'll bring beer if anyone else wants to do it . . .

10am Saturday at my place:
536 Cherokee Ridge
Athens, Ga. 30606
Take Atl Hwy. to Huntington rd, go north (towards the mall), take a right at the 2nd Cherokee Ridge, I'm the 9th house on the left.
We'll go until we're finished. Bring drinks and lunch money, maybe we'll get a pizza or wings or whatever for lunch.
Bring your tank Bruce, and we'll do whatever else pops up as time allows? _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Cool -- thanks for hosting it.
I already have the POR-15 fuel tank system on hand. But I'd like to buy a new inner screen/filter, sending unit seal, outlet pipe, nut, and seal. Do you have it or can get it? _________________ 1965 Beetle |

One of the other topics we had suggested for tech day was ' back up lights-make them work.' I'd love to have them work on the Thing. _________________ 73 Typ481

Bring your front trans brace too. I'll shave the urethane peices on the mill. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Would a headlight aiming be a suitable event for this tech day? Then I can finally get those blasted headlight rings on. It's a little ridiculous. I think I've had those rings, for the total time I've had the car out, maybe 15 minutes total on the car . _________________ 1969 Beetle

It's easier when it's dark. I just eye ball everything on the garage door, drive it around, and look where the lightspots on the ground are. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Sorry I was out all last week on Vacation with the family.... I know we are not part of the club so I don't know if we would be welcomed...? Would love to get schooled on these darn windows and scrapers. Problem is that I have to order in new scrapers for the passenger side and I still need to get the brake lights fixed ( bad pressure sensors). Would be hard to drive to Athens.. But might be able to pull it off if people are willing to help. Bad part is that they will not be the high end (expensive) scrapers..... so not sure who would want to touch this project. |
