Well since i started to driving the Bug its been saving $100 a week in gas.
In the heat its been doing fine.
Been getting lots of looks with the pink BUG.
Had a glitch with the electronic igntion, put back in the old with the ponts in it.
Clyde is going to check it out after his shows in a couple of weeks.
I'm putting 500 to 550 miles on it each week so far 1500-2000 miles no problems yet.
My question is when to do the valves, and how long do the points last befor problems.
Just tring to be ready for the next fix, since i am driving it everyday.
What are the symptoms of valves needing to be done.
What are the symptoms of the points need to replace.
Thanks for the info

Adjust the valves every oil change (3000 miles).
Keep an extra set of points and feeler gages in the car for emergency fixes. Set the gap at .016
Maybe one Sat morn. in August I can coach you through a valve adjustment at your place. We can check guide wear at the same time. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Thanks Clyde
If its easier let me know when you want to do it and i can drive the car up the night before and let it be cool there so if we need anything as far as parts we are at the parts house.
Then i can be there when ever you tell me the next day.
Your helping me enough i dont want to put you out in any way.
Hope your shows are doing well.
Try and stay cool
Holler when your ready
Thanks again

Thanks Clyde for the lesson on the Valve's !
Also wanted to let you know the mirror went on with ease and also the muffler tips also went on with ease and both look great !
Also while i was at your house the fellow with the white bug 1974
and i think he lives in Bethleham Ga.
stopped by and was talking about brake shoes were on speical price but i cant remember what auto parts place he was speaking of.
I think it was Advanced auto parts?
But when i pull them up on the computer there is no mention of brake speical prices.
Thanks
