well I finally got the 69 ghia race car back from the rollcage shop. the inspector came by and signed off on the cage. we are now painting the inside and started wiring and mounting gauges. if I can figure out how to put pics on here I would post what it looks like.Untill then, you can see the cage progress at www.hrracecar.com and look under current projects for my ghia.

Was it inspected by SCCA?
Was the guy's name Chris Neufeld?

With that cage you need some real power. Looks like you are finally going to use those driving shoes!

Yes it was inspected by a guy from the scca. His name is Gary D'abate. He lives over in cleveland. we gonna build a smaller engine and run some tt races next year. I hope to learn how the car reactes what to do when, and learn how to make the proper adjustments. Then we gonna get our racing license in Nov. at Sav. After that, we gonna build a biggin' and then let Jake tune it to a screamer. Yes, I finaly can use my driving shoes.

before anybody comments, I can get my fat ass in and out of that seat. Twisted Evil

I know Gary well.. He is a scrutineer for sure. Did he sign off on the cage?

He is usually a scrut at the races too, see him lots of times in impound.. That is if you finish on the podium and get invited to impound :-)

yes he signed off on the cage. I was a little worried because Toni used a little bit different designed on the cross bar. However, he did signed off and I am getting my log book Wens. night. We got it about half wired, gauges and switches in. Hopefully this weekend we can finish the wiring and start the brake system.

well we have all the wiring in but the battery. cant make up my mind were to put it. i guess it will go in the pass. as close to the frt as I can get it. Got 90% of the brakes in. Got to round up some ss brake hoses to finish the job. The shocks should be here this week and then the suspension will be done. After christmas we hope to get started on the engine.
does anybody know how to load pics on here and I will post some new pics to see the progress.

Sounds like you need to put that thing on some 4 corner scales.. Thats how to figure out where the the battery needs to go.
