|
|
For the 3rd year in a row Beth and I will open the shop up for the Athens VW Club to share our spaces for a weekend.
It looks like the weekend of March 26&27 is open except for some show in Lagrange that I've never heard of before. The weekend before is our SCCA National Race at Road Atlanta and the weekend after is Land Speed where the Peanut Special will hopefully be running 30PSI boost and running 175 MPH!
This year we'll have the chassis dyno fired up again for free pulls on Athen's members VWs and we may even have a couple of special appearances if I can get a few things finished in time.
I have the 3rd building all complete now, so that means we have two lifts, so that will make things better than last year as well.
We'll see if we can't make our way back into the woods to harvest another wild boar or two to throw on the grill and everyone can feel free to camp out also.
See ya'll March 26th and 27th! _________________ Jake Raby

Thanks Jake and Beth! I've already put it on the calendar. We always have a great weekend in the mountains.
I'll bring the Squareback and see what an automatic VW can put down on the dyno. _________________ 73 Typ481

Bob,
It'll be really hard to take that route now!
Maybe I'll be able to stock the Pond before the event this time, so you guys can bring some fishing poles. _________________ Jake Raby

Cool...thanks y'all! We always have a great time at aircooled heaven. Maybe Jon or Shane will bring their engine parts and we can slap them together. I can't wait to see the new shop and luge down the new driveway! _________________ Steve

Sounds like fun... I hope to have a firing range done by then too, so if you have something to make noise you can bring that too!
If not I have plenty and I'll share _________________ Jake Raby

Looking forward to it! If you get the firing range done in time, I've got a few guns that need firing. Let us know if you need us to provide anything. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Balancing is fine if you can wait that long..
Clyde, you can come shoot any time. I generally blast 300 rounds on Saturdays if I am at the shop working on my junk :-) _________________ Jake Raby

Does that mean it will take along time to do? Do you think thats a bad time to do something like that Jake? _________________ Shane Price

I took it to mean that would be a fine time to do it, if you could wait till March rather than do it sooner. _________________ 73 Typ481

Awesome, always a great weekend, hey shane, i took my front dust cap off, maybe you can help put it back on
(when shane and I did my front disk brake converison at last years event, the hardest part of the whole conversion was getting the driver side dust cap on, took hours and many hammer strikes) _________________ 1969 Beetle

Sorry, Greg. That was one of the few instances where a new part should just be thrown in the trash, and the original one re-used. I've since changed vendors on the dust caps. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Thats kinda how I took it Jon. I just want to make sure we're on the same page. I dont wanna bust up in RAT with a box of parts like a damn fool. That reminds me, I still have your file Clyde. I had to file the hell outa that thing to get it on there and the og wasnt deep enough to fit. When I got done you were gone. I'll get it to you one day. My bad. _________________ Shane Price
