Only if I can add 'engine builder' to mine! Thanks again Jake for the guidance and VIP (very important pointers! ). _________________ '58 RHD 2110cc Beetle

Thanks Jake for hosting this dyno/tech day. I always learn something each year. The food was great as usual and seeing the little 'miss raby' was wonderful. cant wait til next year.

I had a great time and thank Jake, Beth, and Ava for hosting us. The weather was perfect for Sat and Sun. I learned quite a bit watching Mike assemble his engine.
I have pictures to post as soon as I can get my computer and photobucket to quit fighting. Every time I try to use the bulk uploaded, a message pops up that explorer is trying to reopen or something like that and then I lose my connection. Any ideas? _________________ 73 Typ481

People always learn a lot here... How Mike got so much experience was buy doing the work all himself, all I did was keep him out of trouble.
Around here if you are going to earn the title "Engine Builder" you are gonna build the whole engine yourself. I'd think that after the experience this weekend ya'll have a little bit of a taste of what its like.
Now just imagine building an engine that will rev 8,500 RPM, have parts that only clear each other by less than 1mm and if you make a single mistake you just blew 10-15K bucks through the wall of they dyno room :-)
Now, Mike can say "I built my own engine" and he won't be exaggerating. _________________ Jake Raby

Had a great time this past weekend, wish i could have stayed longer. I never would have thought it took so much work to get a rotating assembly balanced. Thank you Jake and all your Staff for putting up with my stupid questions, borrowing tools, and having to deal with poorly constructed Type 1 parts. |

Thanks Jake, Beth and Ava. Had a great time as always and great to see everyone again. Now to start the hunt for where those 18 horses are hiding at. |
