I find their approach and dedication to the REAL VWs very refreshing. Its rare that new car dealers even recognize the older cars, except in the hokey ads on TV.

I have always appreciated Porsche's outlook on the vintage cars much more than VW, the Porsche parts system still has most parts for the 356 readily available, try buying a part for a '57 Oval from VW..

Having Gunther's enthusiasm in our area is bound to escalate the interest in these old German cars a little more.. Thats good for the cause.

Bob,
That sounds great! I hope they do come to Buford. That site has had a VW dealership sign up for years now. I hope Gunther's comes through for you and the rest of us.

I talked to this guy's dad just the other day at Greene Ford in Gainesville while waiting on the Exploder to get serviced. His dad expressed how his son's dealerships always sponcered AirCooled events and how much they still loved their aircooled cars. A relly nice guy.

Bob, have any contact info for mr. Gunther??? I'd like to contact him about our event that we'll be doing in the spring..
Maybe someone else that you have met might be a stepping stone for me?? You can PM me if you want.

We spent Thursday afternoon touring the facility & talking with the folks there. I'll tell you; Disney's got nothing on this place! Its got so much going on. New cars, vintage cars, radical artwork, great music playing and a bunch of folks really enjoying working there.
They are excited about coming to Mall of Georgia. The place will have a "Woodstock" event lawn, where they will host different events, including local VW clubs!

According to everyone who works for him, Casey is the real deal!

Found a link on the TDI club forums. Probably from the webcam they have on the construction site.

Wow! Things look and sound promising. I hope it all works out for Bob and Jake. I'm glad Gunther is moving in and not just another run of the mill new car dealer.
Cool site work pictures. Choate does pretty decent work. They recently completed the new Lawrenceville Police Station that we designed.

I can't think of too many people I have met in the past few years that I was excited to meet.. That includes "celebrities"..
I can say that I am very enthusiastic about meeting Casey tomorrow.

He does things his own way, a way that has gotten him into hot water with VW in the past because they didn't follow what is expected from dealers.. From what I can tell, he does what he wants and doesn't care very much about what the higher echeleon "wants".

Here is some good reading about him and how he sells more VWs than anyone else by breaking the rules...

http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=20&ved=0CDUQFjAJOAo&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autonews.com%2Fapps%2Fpbcs.dll%2Farticle%3FAID%3D%2F20091207%2FRETAIL03%2F312079996&ei=YYdTTNrQBsP88AbziLWqDw&usg=AFQjCNFEn6PHwOdw7LRyq9RflwzVoUJ8CA

I can't wait to see what he has cooked yup for our local place "to celebrate the brand". If he was like any other dealer, I could care less about meeting him or even walking in the door of the dealership.
