The car runs great but it has a miss when it's cold and noticablely less power than when warm. I am thinking that it may be choke related. Any thoughts? _________________ 1969 Beetle

checked the plugs and they were all white, that means I'm running lean, right? _________________ 1969 Beetle

Are you looking deep down in the plug, or at the electrode end? There is a difference. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

hmm, good question (already put them back in), I think they are white at the electrodes and down inside the plug. It's weird, it runs like crap for the first couple of miles then after it warms up, it's great. The choke may not be closing enough. Or I could be running lean overall and it's more noticable when it's cold? I'm open to suggestions. _________________ 1969 Beetle

Once it's warmed up, you can pull a spark plug wire out of the dist cap while it's running, and see if there's spark jumping between the wire and the cap terminal. And see if it makes an even difference on each of the plugs. If you get one that makes no difference, you have found a bad plug, or plug wire. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam
