A few of you know this but for those who dont I have signed a lease on a 3300 sq ft building in downtown Statham to run my auto repair shop. Its been in the works for sometime and I have been doing sidework out of my home for over 2 yrs. Its to the point that my day job is interfering with me making money. Very Happy So I'm doin it! Next week I will be getting set up and installing a lift and all that. So hopefully I will be open full time in a week or so. So ofcorse that means now we have a more local place to do tech days and other club stuff. I will open my shop to the club whenever possible. I think it will be pretty damn sweet! I cant wait to get back from vacation to get it going Very Happy

I'm already doin that dude. I drive 45 min every morning to my day job. Work 8-5ish. Drive 45 min back. Then work til about 11or 12 sometimes later. Then on weekends from morning til late night. So I been workin my ass off for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if this gives me a little relief Rolling Eyes I have no free time now, only difference is i'm breakin my back and makin somebody else look good during the day. I won't miss that friggin drive I can tell you that! My shop is less then 10min from the house. I hope I stay busy as shit like I am now, thats a problem I can definately deal with. I told my wife I'm gonna enjoy this vac cause it'll be a while before I take another one. Anyway me and the wife are thrilled as can be! I cant wait to get all the crap away from my house and my house can just be my house again and not have tools and parts allover the garage and 8 cars in the driveway.

That's great news, Shane!
I hope to be first in line with my Nissan truck next week for some service.
I should be able to give you a hand next weekend too!

The big difference is a side of the "experience" that you haven't really seen yet.. Its not all fun, of course but it is worth it.

"People" are the real challenge.

Sounds good! I have a Vette in my garage that I should have a clutch kit and flywheel for when I get home. I will breathe alot easier when that thing is back together and returned to its owner who has been very patient by the way. Thats my main priority when I get back. But I can still fit a few in around it. Anyway I will be glad when I get open for business so I can turn stuff around faster. I also have a baja bbug with some wiring issues I have to get done by next weekend too. I dont really have a point I'm just thinkin out loud I guess. Its hard to relax on vac when I got so much I need to get done.

I just got home from Shane's new shop. It is coming along nicely. Plenty of room, good lighting and with some luck a new (to Shane) lift.

Thanks Scott. Yeah, I work on everything foriegn and domestic. I'm a Honda, Acura specialist but I've been workin for an independent shop for over 10 years so I dont really specialize in anything anymore. I dont turn much away. Everything from brakes to timing belts, elctrical problems, drivability problems. I do it all.
