I talk to Jon alittle about this before so I thuoght I would post something and you could talk among yourselves Smile My shop in Statham is up and runnin. The shop is over 2500 sq ft with a lift. I have a full kitchen. A lounge with sat tv (in shop and lounge)Head Bang Jons favorite part btw Very Happy he likes to watch Rob and Big. Anyway if yall wanna plan a tech day or weekend feel free. I'm down for whatever. I said I would open my shop to the club so here you go. Besides it makes an awsome club house so if we do one evry month or two thats ok with me. Just gimme enough heads up to make sure the shop is as empty as possible. Cool

Awesome Shane! I'm thinking sometime near the end of November? The club can do something sooner, but I probably won't be able to make it due to shows, my son's robotics team, etc...

We can have as many as yall like. Granted the shops not full of customers cars. Which shouldnt be a problem cause I usually get stuff in and out pretty fast. I dont like stuff hangin out all weekend if I can help it. In other words if there is a customers car there on a sat. I'll be workin on it.

That's very generous, sounds like you got the place pretty much squared away.

One of the ideas Shane and I have been kicking around is that we each want to build a performance engine. The plan is to start deciding on what components we need and then to start obtaining them as $$$ allows. I'm posting this way ahead of when we will actually start, so that anyone else who wants to build their own engine can get in on the ground floor.

I plan to build a 1914 and I will take all the guidance and instuction I can get. (as long as those offering help know what they are doing)

Let us know if you want to be part of this.

Cool idea.. When you guys get the parts up you can come use my balancer to balance the assembly and then the chassis dyno to dial it in.

I have some good cheap 1914 combos that make around 120HP, with 40X35.5 valved heads.

Maybe part of it could be done at Shane's and part of it here as you gather parts.. I am building a "Sweep the floor" 1915 Turbo engine now, should make around 300 HP from all used parts!

Thanks Jake that would be great. I'd like to know what your combos are. I want a fast engine for a weekend warrior/driver, not looking for a 100,000 mile engine. It will be going in a 72 standard bug.

Thanks Jake! I like buildin "scrap iron' engines. It's fun to see how good of an engine you can build out of left overs. I want to probably build a mild 1776 daily driver.I would love to balance eveything and make me a nice little performance engine that can be spanked alittle without worrying about beatin it to death at higher rpms. Thats cool of you to offer that dude!

Took me alot more that that and I only got to 122 (At the tires) with a 2110.

Hope before long the trans issues will be sorted out and I can get it up to the Mtn for some real tuning. Laughing
