WOW ! What a ride home !
Left Aircooled Technology car running killer about 30 minutes down 129 south crusing along went to hit the gas a little to get up a incline and snap the throttle cable broke luckly i had my brother driving the truck that we towed the pink bug up there with following me back home so we pulled inyo the perfect place to put the tow bar back on the car for the rest of the trip home.
So we were soon back on the way home with the pink bug in-tow again, pulled into gainesville to make a few turns in the town and went to yeild at a intersection and the bug shifted a little to one side and the car started to pass me,slamed the ford into park and jumped out and grabbed the bug to stop it from rolling into the intersection it had broken the bolts that held the tow bar on and bent the bar up a little and put a small dent in the passenger side front fender! Wooooow ! That was a close one.
So i had this big rope that i pull trees around with tied it around the bumper and towed it again for 25 miles the rest of the way home.
Next project is the throttle cable.
Still had a awsome trip this past weekend at AIRCOOLED TECHNOLOGY !
Thanks again for everybody with the HELP on my bug, without weekends like this i could not afford to keep driving my bug back and forth to work so much, but i love driving it through rush hour!
Katie loves working on the things we can do on the car together.
Thats almost as fun as the driving part.
So i will be looking for a car dolly instead of the tow bar by the way its for sale.
later

I echo the thanks to Jake and Beth, also to Jon and Keith. We had a great time dynoing and tuning as well as installing upgrades. Special thanks to Jake's helper Jon. He did the welding on my exhaust after Joe and Mark had shortened it. The old German metal was not easy to weld, but Jon stayed with it till late into the night. He got me fixed up and now my muffler looks like it is stock.
Thank you to Jeff and Greg for being the clean up crew. You did a great job!
We did get to break out the guns in the afternoon. Nothing is safe on top of that mountain!
Thanks to all who came. It was another great time at Aircooled Technology. _________________ 73 Typ481

Your more than welcome, guys.. The things that we experienced this weekend is what makes the VW more of a cult than anything else. I really like sharing my place with you guys, everyone is considerate and respects what we have created. I am more than happy to share my place and toys with y'all.
Our helper, Jon is a really great kid. He is a real hardcharger and the only kid I have ever seen that was as crazy at 17 as I was and willing to work night and day to learn and experience. We all enjoy teaching him what we know, because he wants to learn.
I had fun blowing up some Kevlar on the firing range! Seeing Jon fire the Draco was cool, Iam sure that he felt like Superman for a few minutes while he was firing it.
The hill is a world of its own.. We'll do it again in 2012, hopefully with better weather. _________________ Jake Raby

Sorry about the holes in the turf. Maybe with some more firing time I'll be close to what I intend to be shooting.......and remember - don't step on my cape! _________________ 73 Typ481

Shane, thats an impressive bone stock engine... See what a little compression can do! 55 ponies from a stock engine is damn impressive at the rear wheels, most don't break 50 at the flywheel!
Glad you liked my Draco, hell having that baby in your hands makes you look for conflict! _________________ Jake Raby

Those heads were at 8.1:1 with 87 pistons, so he's probably got like 8.2 or 8.3 to 1 now.
Thanks Jake and Beth for everything. I'm bummed I had to leave soooo early. Thanks to the Joes for helping get the toe-in safe for Jeff. And whoever got his carb straightened out.
June 5th is going to be awesome. We're at your disposal, Jake. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Clyde, I looked up and you were gone!!I showed Marc a trick on the Pink Pig's carb... It runs like new now.. A little teflon tape is so effective!
Your welcome to all you guys! BTW the Pinz runs like new, it'll hit the dyno tomorrow!! _________________ Jake Raby

Yeah Jeff, That's some shit! I'm always afraid of a bug coming unhooked while in tow or any trailer for that matter. Your lucky it was hardly any damage. Thanks for the compliments Jake! Also thanks to Clyde for doin those heads up for me. I was happy to break 50 at the wheels but 55.73, I couldnt be happier with the outcome. Your right too, I need to get a head temp guage so I can keep a closer eye on it. I guess I just never worried about a stock or almost stock engine overheating. If everything is dailed in right that is. _________________ Shane Price

I wanted to say that I had a great time. The food was good as always. Thanks Beth. I was disappointed I could not get the ghia tranny problems worked out but still had a great time seeing you guys and watching the dyno runs.

Stock runs hotter than most anything! They have to work their ass off just to go 65 MPH! Load= Heat. _________________ Jake Raby
