My bus is doing fine and I drive it regularly. I took it to Nashville, Orlando, and Spartanburg over the summer, and I talked the Mrs. into a GA camping trip in the fall. I've ordered ABS door panels and kick panels. I'm still trying to get the CHTs down a bit, and I'm having my distributor rebuilt by the Philbin Group in Portland, the people who rebuilt Greg's. I'll probably go with the PerTronix electonic ignition. Philbin also sells this, what do you guys think?:

"The Ignition Enhancer EX1000TM from T.D.T Enterprises, Inc. is designed to maximize your engine performance. It reduces the carbon monoxide emissions up to 19%. It will reduce hydrocarbon emissions up to 35% and improve your gas mileage and horsepower output up to 15%.
The Enhancer EX1000TM cleans out the harmful carbon deposits and varnish buildup. The EX1000TM can extend the engine life and provides better and faster ignition."

Lastly, it turns out that Eddie Self (A-1 Automotive on Flat Rock Road in Watkinsville) has an exhaust gas analyzer. I know some of you guys were looking for one. I'll have him hook that up and maybe reject the carbs.

I think the Pertronix will work well, just keep the points and condenser in the bus in case the electronic unit craps out. (I do)

OK, let's get this thread going again.

Joe, Johnny, Greg, Bob, Jimbear, James, Darrell, John....let us know what is going on with your bus. I left Mike off the list because he has his own thread and IS keeping it updated.

I don't drive mine every day but it gets driven about 1/2 the time on the weekends. We recently piled a bunch of people in and went and saw the nights of lights over Christmas. Still working on some things mechanically (alternator, shifting issue etc) but over all it's a pretty reliable vehicle.

I love the reactions I get. Always have to allow more time when refueling or going through the drive through. Very Happy

I saw my first late bay on the road the other day. He was on 285 headed south/east.

Couple of things I've done to it recently.....

took the stove out, amazing how much room that creates

cleaned all the grounds on the charging circuit, didn't help the alt issue

the biggest thing was I found the correct distributor for the FI, I lost a little power but it dropped the CHT a good bit.

I posted in here the other night but I don't know where it went.

I am now able to start mine up and drive it around.
The interior is pretty much done.
All new brakes and they work.
All my lights work except turn signals...think it's a bad switch.
Its nice not having to push it around anymore.

My bus has gone to Augusta to have body improvements done. Once Joe is done hopefully Johnny will give it a new coat of the stock green paint. Cool
