That is pretty cool that it was under the paint and survived your sandblasting. _________________ 73 Typ481

I think those numbers may be M-codes (option codes) they used to be on an aluminum plate behind the drivers seat bulkhead on the split buses. _________________ 63 Beetle |

Probably a supervisor with a grease pen marking the Westy for the assembly workers- whole lot easier looking at a tiny steel plate
It's pretty cool that it survived your paint removal blasting |

SCORE!!!!
You already have AMC head castings!!! Len can easily update these and save you money!
Also the pistons and cylinders look fresh... Tear it all the way down, you might need my DVD to do it more easily. Looks better than I expected! _________________ Jake Raby

That sounds great Jake. I'll order your DVD tonight. Should I try to get these heads to Len this weekend? or bring them up there to you? _________________ '58 RHD 2110cc Beetle

Well . . . . due to a mismatched pair of heads . . . A new pair of CS heads are on order.
Today I was able to clean up most of the cooling tin. Here's a few pics.....before
and after . . .
Now the question is......paint . . . . or powder coat? I can do either.... _________________ '58 RHD 2110cc Beetle

Powder coat! There is no question....as long as your powder coating is good and doesn't look like ass. _________________ 73 Typ481
