I finally built me a decent powder booth yesterday so here's a few pieces I got coated today..............

Wanted to try a little color just for the heck of so since the following part won't be seen much . . . . .

Got all but one piece of cooling tin done now, just got to sift thru the remaining engine parts in preparation for the rebuild! Anyone know if the small breather box that mounts on top of the case has some kind of filter/element in it?

Picked up this (then crusty) fan for $5.00. Cleaned up pretty good.

This next piece was quite nasty and covered in grime. Hope it still works. I'm not sure exactly what it's function is other than part of the injection system.

The air plenum was my worst Pain In The A--! .....after the second coat on it I wasn't happy with the results so I decided to remove the coating and start over............Ha! The color on the package said 'Super Durable Wet Black' . . . . It's definitely durable. Almost couldn't even remove it with my sand blaster! Shocked Shocked

Now I'll get to show you just how much powder coating the fan effects its balance. The fan is the one part that we don't powder coat and NEVER split the fan ring off the face of the fan!

You'll have fun with that on my balancer, you might better come a day early Wink

Well damn, I kinda got that feeling when I put it back together and saw the balance weight on the ring. Hmm. . . . Can't be there any earlier, but I do have a week's vacation following that weekend ..... Cool

Oh no... You didn't... Remove the ring....

There goes at least 4 extra hours just trying to center it back correctly on the balancer.

No, you are killing yourself! Looks KILL!

Blast all the powder coat off the seating surfaces of the fan and the ring and start trying to center the ring so it spins true on the fan, something thats elliptical can't be balanced.

You've done great o the other parts and this is a total greenhorn mistake, I even made it once upon a time.. BUT you'll ONLY make it ONCE.

I tried to tell him Jake. Rolling Eyes It probably won't matter much, after all this work on the engine and body this bus will be a trailer queen. Twisted Evil

Well, with balancing help from Blake and a few pointers from Jake, I was able to assemble the short block yesterday and hopefully today the longblock will be complete...
