Ok guys...
Lets do this for the 4th year in a row!! Last year the attendance was down due to weather so lets make up for it this year.. We will have the Chassis Dyno fired up and all the work areas will be open.
Lets get a little head start on planning projects this year.. I know that both Jon and Thang have TIV engines that need to be built and I can dig up some scratch and dent parts to sell you at a better price to make them CS clones.. You still have time to get some decent heads to Len to be rebuilt and I have some good cores that you could use if yours are junk, or just 2.0 bus heads that Len won't work with.
If we are going to build engines I need to get it set up beforehand, which is no problem... BUT I would suggest we start on Friday so we can get done by Sunday afternoon.
I killed more of Bambi's family this year than normal, so we will have plenty of mouth watering Raby venison to tease your tastebuds throughout the weekend and the fellows up at North Ga BBQ will be serving some lunch as well..
Thoughts? Lets have fun! _________________ Jake Raby

Sounds like a plan! I'm hoping to be finished removing paint from my bus this coming weekend so that I can get it to the body shop for repairs and paint ( and get it out of my way ) so I can start the tear down of my engine. I don't claim to know anything about rebuilding it so I'm hoping for lots of help on that. Jake, I can probably get the heads pulled this week and post a few pics for your evaluation. Looking forward to Tech Day! _________________ '58 RHD 2110cc Beetle

My engine rebuild is still in my plans, but the bill from an unexpected surgery may derail those plans. At least for a while. _________________ 73 Typ481

I missed last years event and regretted it. You can count on me being there this year. _________________ 1963 Beetle

Well dang.... I sponsored the SEVWA and have the Big Bug shootout at Piedmont Dragway on April 1st. I'll have to leave Sat. after lunch. Someone video it for me PLEASE?
I look forward to putting a face with North Georgia BBQ owner Wes, and seeing his Bus.

Thang and Jon, does it look like y'all will be able to make the engines happen for the event.. I know that is over 2 months away but I'd like to make it happen if we can. Len still has time to get the heads done now, but if you wait that won't be the story. _________________ Jake Raby

My rebuild is definitely happening Jake. Didn't get started yet due to the work loadI had last week, but will get the heads pulled this coming week. _________________ '58 RHD 2110cc Beetle

Cool!! Jon, don't be pressured to do it at the same time.. I just don't want to rush and I want time to have all the balancing and machining done WELL BEFORE Tech Day.. Spring is balls to the wall for us and I know it. _________________ Jake Raby

If it is at all possible, I do want to do my engine at the same time. I think it can happen.

I don't have much I need to get done. I would like some hands on input on fine tuning my type IV. Other than that I would like to be involved in the engine rebuilds. _________________ 1963 Beetle
