Anybody looked at this weeks Flagpole? On the inside page there is a car show advertised for March 10. It lists all kinds of vehicles, and includes "VW Club"
Anyone else seen this? _________________ 63 Beetle |

Looked it up online - not much more info there yet. I bet it is the watercooled guys and we should show up in force to represent the real VWs. Shine up your air cooled ride and let's go. _________________ 73 Typ481

This show is put on by the Athens Community Council on Aging. I have put in a call to them for some info on the show. I'll post once they call me back, but if anybody knows anything about this show please let me know. _________________ 73 Typ481

Here is the info: Railroad Days - A Celebration of Transportation.
There will be train stuff, unicycle, tractor rides, etc. It is a family event including a Bar-b-Que. They would like up to 5 VWs to have on display. It will be on Hoyt St. at the old train station.
If you would like to bring your VW to this event post here and we'll take the first 5 to post. We need to arrive around 10:00 am and the event is from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.
For those who don't have their car on display this would still be fun to attend. _________________ 73 Typ481

Sadly, I can't go. Will be in Atlanta all day Saturday for Car-o-Liner training. Shop is getting a new frame machine. Still plan to be at Reynolds on Sunday. _________________ 63 Beetle |

WE NEED MORE CARS!
The antique cars will not be able to come due to the owner's illness and they would like more VWs fill the space. So far I'm the only one taking a car down. Can anyone else bring their VW?
I'll take the Thing and my Bug if I can figure out how to drive both.
If you don't want to stay the whole time, that is OK. Your car doesn't need to be anything near show condition; daily drivers are fine. _________________ 73 Typ481

Great! Thanks Bob. Mark O. will have his bug and Todd's Single Cab and I'll have the Thing.

I really want to come but the beetle is having some engine issues. I'm going to do a tune up tonight. Depending on how that goes will determine sat. _________________ 1969 Beetle

It's skipping on one cylinder, not a dead skip but enough to notice it. I pulled the plugs a few weeks ago and I had one that was all black and sooty. I'm hoping it's just a valve needing adjustment. _________________ 1969 Beetle
