So I finally got my driver's license and my bug running thanks to Shane's shop. Yay. But now I need car insurance and it's the only car I own, and I'm finding that a lot of major insurance companies don't even cover cars as old as my 73. Any great companies you know of? |

I have some of my VWs on Hagerty. You won't get collector type insurance if it's the only car that you drive. They also require that the car be garaged and limited mileage per year. So far, no one has checked out my mileage or garage use. I did park the car in front of a three car garage when I submitted the required photo of the vehicle. Nationwide has started a collector car policy that is much cheaper than their standard policies. Some restrictions also apply. _________________ Ya can't have too many VDUBS.

Yeah, I just figured out they also won't insure me if it isn't worth at least 5000. I'm in the process of fixing it up so it should be soon...but my baby is still pretty busted up. So yeah, Hagerty isn't an option for me personally. Statefarm gave me a 56 or 338 for 6 months. I don't remember if I've checked Nationwide yet. |

Speaking of Hagerty insurance, Hagerty has an article this week about the RM micro car auction http://tinyurl.com/bw3vr3g _________________ Ya can't have too many VDUBS.
