Well I'm finally going to tackle my low voltage problem. I'm getting low 13s when revved, dropping to 12s when I turn the lights on. I took the bus to the local flaps where they tested the system. It failed the regulator voltage test. I've bought a new alt to reg harness but it's dang near impossible to replace it without removing the alt. So, I'm going to pull the alt out this fri and have it tested as well.
Anybody have any tips or tricks? Is there a place that can test the diode pack in the alt?
(i have replaced the reg already) _________________ 1969 Beetle

Ratwell's site has a good set of directions to follow for pulling the alternator while the engine is in the bus. I'll be glad to help you on Friday. I need to change mine and I'd like to learn what to and not to do on your bus. _________________ 73 Typ481
