It is time to plan the coming year's events and we need some feedback. What events do you want to see this year? The past couple of years we have planned things like camping or going to Braves games and they don't happen due to lack of interest.

If you have ideas, please speak up. Do we plan to do too many things? Are monthly meetings enough? Attendance has really fallen off in the last year or so; is there a way to get people involved again?

Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Jon

Due to some serious expansion we won't be able to host a tech day this spring, like normal..

But we might have a new place to have a tech day closer to Athens sometime in 2014 :-)

Attendance has been down for a couple of years now at a lot of events, even the Poker Run.. We are part of the problem, because we haven't made it to much either.

Sorry to hear that, always an enjoyable weekend.

hmmm, did anyone like the mini tech days? I know some of the ga dubs did one recently. What about the drives to the varsity etc?

I hate that I've been missing the monthly meetings but my flag football team plays on Sundays and they didn't like it when I tried to reschedule Smile

It seems to me that the lack of attendance is due less to lack of interest and more to the fact that most of our members have a thousand things going on because of school, work, kids, etc. For me I can usually schedule 1 vw event a month, much more and I can't fulfill my other obligations. In addition if there is an event close to the meeting time I see no need in having both. I enjoy all the events but it's especially easy to squeeze 1 day things in to the schedule. I'd be glad to help pitch in on organizing an event or poker run if someone will give me a job.

The Poker Run has always been our best event and it needs more exposure in other places to stay that way… Other forums and etc are how to get more people to it.

I'll still be happy to host it even though we can't have a tech day here this year. By the time the poker run comes around all my changes will be in place.

I wish you guys weren't so far away from me. I feel that my wife and I fit in the most with your club. We will be at the poker run and I will be at volkstock and maybe a few others.

Thanks for the feedback those who took time to post.

My thoughts are that we need to keep the monthly meetings as that is our one constant. That is how new folks can find us.

We should plan fewer events. We'll just plan the bigger events now. We can always plan other events like camping, cook-outs, ball games, etc. by posting here and making plans.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Cool
