I decided to remove the bumper of the Westy today to allow me to blend my engine hatch paint job I've been putting off for a month. As usual, nothing is easy. Rust at the end of the frame had caused the welded on stay nut (for the rear most, passenger side bumper bracket bolt) to be free turning. I am confident I can cut the head of the bolt off and extract it from the inner frame through the rust hole freeing the bracket. However my concern is the long term health and stability of the area. The frame is weakened to the point that the passenger side bracket is supported by just the front most bolt. I had plans to put in a trailer hitch or tire mount on the rear bumper, but this doesn't sound safe with only 1 passenger side bolt. Any thoughts on repair, could a welder clean it up and rebuild the rear most bumper bracket bolt area? Sorry about the bad pics.

My parts bus is willing to donate those parts if you can sweet talk Joe into welding them on your bus. _________________ 73 Typ481
