Volkstock 2 is in the works! I've talked to Ken and it is going to happen August 1, 2, 3. For those who didn't make it to Volkstock 1, it was a Friday-Sunday tech/party event at Ken and Inge's home. They have a great shop, swimming pool, sleeping space inside, and camping space. Gary also lives just down the street and has offered up some sleeping room with AC.
I'm thinking we will have several tech events. Brakes-bleeding and adjusting, valve adjusting, shifter bushing replacement, and headlight aiming.
What other ideas are there for tech stuff?
These are all things that several of us can lead. We can trade off leading them. I post details as they come together. _________________ 73 Typ481

Being that I had such a hella time with my valves the last attempt I made, I would be game for this. I am also in need to dealing with my rear suspension/torsion bars...anyone want to help me tackle this? Clyde says that he has the protractor whammie for this job. _________________ "A vision without a task is a dream - a task without a vision is drudgery- but a task with vision can change the world."

I am definitely stoked about this tech day........being that I am a mechanical moron (I openly admit to being a moron in many other departments: women, cooking, growing plants, women, and women), but I can drink beer........so at least I have that going for me
Can't wait for the details to emerge! _________________ Ted Mierzwa

According to the date I might be able to come give some classes on valve adjustments, ignition timing and enrichment... Its important that people know WHY valves are adjusted and what timing actually is.. The procedure makes much more sense if you understand what the components are doing and why.
July is crazy for me, August won't be as bad. _________________ Jake Raby

We had a blast last year. Have a look at the photos in the gallery. I hope Ken and Inge are up for it again. August is better for Kellie and I. July is already booked.
Jake's back to the basics tech day is something we all could use. Johnny also mentioned during the camping trip that Lake Jim has a professional headlamp aiming tool that he might be willing to set up.
Jimbear's rear suspension readjustment sounds like a good candidate as well. _________________ Steve

And I'll be happy to do it as long as the schedule is open...
All I'd need is 2-3 hours of one day at max..
Of course, we could do a TIV conversion into Jon's 181 as another bit of instruction :-) _________________ Jake Raby

You've been saying that for months!
Maybe I'll have to take the 60' in on trade to ever make this happen! :-) _________________ Jake Raby

Nope.. The gates to Aircooled Heaven remain closed to visitors.. every now and then we'll host the club at the shop, but thats pretty much the only time the gates open..
We are so busy that I can't spare even a minute! Plus, next week Excellence Magazine will be there covering the Porsche 986 and 996 engines we are developing so everything must be sterile for their visit! _________________ Jake Raby
