Mine are 145SR15. No middle number, just like the original 165R15. With mine, the only thing that cured the rubbing was a different offset on the rim. I've got early Riviera wheels, which tuck in closer to the car. 914 wheels also tuck in nicely.
The 145s on stock wheels might help some, but I wouldn't guarantee it (don't pay for balancing 'til you've driven it and confirmed they don't rub). _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam
