I knew I had a brake or two dragging from the inability to coast at times and the rock hard peddle but today I was towing it back from getting my Dodge repaired and when I got home I noticed a problem. The car was out of gear, e brake off and when I got home all four wheels and hub caps were to hot to touch. What would cause all four to lock up. I plan to do the brake job tomorrow. Just need ideas of what to look for. _________________ 71 Standard Beetle "Big Bird"

Scott, it sounds like you have a bad master cylinder or all your flexible brake lines need to be replaced. I guess possibly the rod that pushes into the master cylinder could be adjusted too far out. _________________ 73 Typ481

Sounds like over adjustment of the master cylinder actuator rod.. Thats the only thing that will lock all 4 equally..
You must have free play in that rod, I prefer 8mm before the rod contacts the piston inside the master..
if they got really hot you might have warped the drums.. _________________ Jake Raby
