We have two type 4's. One case # is CV039300 and the other is GE037883.
What year are they and which one would be the best to build ?
Thanks in advance. _________________ 73 Super

OK...
CV039300 is from a 80-82 Vanagon
GE037883 is from a 78-79 bus
Both are 2.0L 70 HP w/ hydraulic lifters
As far as I know, they are pretty much the same. I would check
with Jake as far as which one is more desirable to build. _________________ 63 Beetle |

The CV case should be avoided IF you intend to convert the engine to upright cooling..
The GE case is OK for upright cooling, but the engine is a Hydro 2.0 _________________ Jake Raby
