I'll be in my beetle and can bring parts. PM me.
I'll bring solex main and idle jets,
gage pins and reamers,
Timing light with advance knob,
TDC tools and Dremel to check and mark stock pulleys,
let me know what else... _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Cool! I don't have many solex jets :-)
Sounds like Clyde wants to do some tuning too! There should be some really good running engines at the Poker run this year after this tech day! _________________ Jake Raby

Im gonna try to make it out to this tech / tuning day (Sunday) if its OK with the Athens Folks. If there is time to get the Red Rocket on the rollers to check on jetting and see if it will be at the 100hp mark that would be great. I will also try to have an o2 bung put into the exaust before then. Might be fun to see how the AF/ratio changes as the car is driven on the road.
I miss the West Ga Chapter. But we didnt do the things you guys are doing. So keep up the good work with the club. _________________ 1962 "Red Rocket" 2110 Toy

Caveman,
Feel free to come on up and join in..
I need to come up with a topic that I can make a presentation for so I can use you guys as guinea pigs for the "Aircooled University". I don't really know the best topic to do this on that would be general enough for everyone...
I am itching to try out the new classroom :-) _________________ Jake Raby

How about... 5 fastest ways to kill an aircooled engine
Cover the basics that make an engine run...gas, air & spark
More advanced...What effect different cams have and why
Oil isn't oil...what to use
These are just a few ideas to get the ball rolling. _________________ 73 Typ481

1- work on it like a Chevy
2- Take it to "someone thats been workin on VWs for 35 years"
3- Chrome it out
4-Make it "sound good"
5- Add a chrome coil, 009 dizzy and 2 barrell Weber progressive carb.

Yep, along with the 4 strokes of the engine and the order they occur in and what happens during those.

Damn, thats a 3 day workshop!

OK, but if a challenger steps up to the plate it might get interesting :-)
I suppose I'll base the content on the list of people who respond saying they'll be here.. [/quote] _________________ Jake Raby

You forgot something..
"The total PERFORMANCE package"!
LOL
I forgot the dual mufflers, they are always necessary for those who want the engine to sound like a 4 cylinder Harley Davidson and run like crap! _________________ Jake Raby

I will be there one day. Most likely Saturday. Looking forward to seeing all the toys. Jake, since your shop is off limits most of the time, it might be a good project for your A/V dept. to put together a selective "Jake Tour" for your website highlighting those unique features that make your shop the place to buy. You know. A picture is worth......ect. Just my deflated $.02 _________________ Ya can't have too many VDUBS.

Thats a great idea and I have planned on doing it for a while.. The new portion is still at 98% and I'll probably only get it totally finished the Friday before the event, them a DVD is in order.. _________________ Jake Raby

The whole thing sounds like a blast!
I'm definitely in for camping Saturday night. Kellie is throwing a baby shower for a friend that weekend, so need to be as far away as possible
From what I've read and heard the plan sounds like this:
Show up Saturday morning
Bring own basic tools
Tune up lessons in classroom
Tune up time on dyno
Bring or purchase your intended parts
Grill burgers and dogs (club provided...easier than organizing potluck)
More tuning
Breakfast somewhere Sunday morning?
Fun time tuning and lessons in Aircooled Heaven, and there isn't even a sign up fee! If you miss this, your crazy! _________________ Steve
