Just wanted to let everyone know that Christina is bumped and bruised, but otherwise, miraculously fine. Cat scans came back negative. One of the worst parts of the ordeal was that it took 6 hours to get the cat scan results back, and Christina was strapped to the immobilization board the whole time.
Our buddy, Jim, came up from Athens and got us from the hospital and we got home around 1:30. The couch never felt so good.
Sorry to put such a damper on the weekend. We had a blast up to the last 20 seconds before the wreck.
Thanks to everyone's quick response on the scene. It was a horrific accident and we both feel very lucky to have made it through without more serious injuries.
If anyone knows someone looking for singlecab or bus parts, let me know.
Thanks again and we'll see everyone very soon. _________________ The Slumlord

So glad to hear that you are both "okay". Considering the severity of the accident, sounds like you are both very lucky. I couldn't believe it when Jon told us late last night that neither of you had severe injuries. That wife of yours is one tough lady
Please shout if you need anything. _________________ Beth Raby |

Very good news!!!! Beth and I were wondering how you were getting home and almost called to see if you needed a ride after we left the shop from helping Pete fix his square..
Old VWs are tough, tougher than most people think but it sounds like Christina is even tougher because she took a huge lick for sure! Having crashed (and rolled) a VW or two in my time I know you'll be sore as hell tomorrow and the rest of the coming week at minimum.
I have a '65 single cab that I did some really crazy stuff to about 10 years ago and never finished.. Most of the parts I would need to finish it were still intact on your truck, so I might be interested in it..
Get well soon to both of you... BTW you have a PM _________________ Jake Raby

We were 2 cars behind you, and it looked like something unfolding in slow motion.
We are so thankful that both of you were not seriously injured. Losing one's brakes in the mountains is probably the biggest fear a bus owner has.
Hope to see you guys next week at Loco's! If you need any help
send me a PM or call..

I'm super glad you guys are alright. It was great to see everyone rise to the occasion- 911 calls, removing the gas tank, collecting your stuff, putting it back upright, towing to Joey's, etc... VW folks are good people.
We drew your remaining cards and you won a 1.25:1 Scat rocker assy. And I have a black VW ball cap for Christina.
It was one of those "I can't beleive this is happening God, Holy Crap! HELP these guys!" situations.
I'll be praying for your healing.
We'll do what we can to help in the coming months... _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

We are glad to hear that you are back home and all is well. When something like this occurs and you see the reactions of everybody It makes you think how lucky we all are to be surrounded by such wonderful people as the VW Family.
Wishing you the best.

Mark, I hope you and Christina are feeling better and not continually finding new spots that hurt.
I've got a couple things of yours that I'll bring by this week.
Thanks to all who jumped in and help make the best of a terrible happening. _________________ 73 Typ481
