Nice! Looks like the same color as my bug (L90C alpine white). _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

I'll know how much power it makes by Lunch tomorrow... | Jake if you don't find a good home for it we (the club) could use it as a tech/teaching tool and eventually sell it and return the profits. This would be good for those of us that have never taken one down and yes...................................some of us still rock the T1. _________________ 71 Standard Beetle "Big Bird"

True...
Thats a good idea.. Maybe we can use it as a "spare" engine that could be loaned out to those with failed engines or etc.. It could be property of the club..
That sounds pretty good to me.. Clyde, what do you think? _________________ Jake Raby

Nice early bay double!
Have you decided what you are gonna run in it...type I, type II, flat six?
This guy has the rear suspension, engine and tranny from an early 911 in his. There is a video somewhere of this thing launching, and it sounds badass!

Hey Jake, Maybe you could get in touch with that guy and he could teach you how to put a porsche engine in a bus. _________________ Shane Price

I decided today to install my spare 923 5 speed tranny in the DC along with a 2316cc high torque MassIVe engine built only for torque.
We'll still use the truck to haul stuff, so its important to have big torque, something a 911 engine isn't known for at anything less than 5,000RPM..
So I am gonna use some spare parts to build a Nickies 2316, couple that to the same roller cam thats in Beth's vert and a set of LE 160 heads... With EFI.
I'll start on it Wednesday... Who wants to help??
Anybody need a good 002 Bus tranny?? This one is jam up and totally not needed now :-) _________________ Jake Raby

I'm up for leading a few tech days on it, but I need someone else to keep it in their garage. I've got way too much stuff in my garage. and in my house .
Thanks for the offer, Jake!
Anyone have clean, dry indoor storage space available?
We can do the tech stuff at my place, or wherever it is stored. I'm not sure what's easier, moving an engine, or all the tech day tools?
We could track it's life... and keep it in the club as a loaner, for when someone wants to do their first rebuild, but doesn't want their car off the road while they learn stuff.... _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Probably 500.00 for the tranny.. Its perfect, shifts smooth and is quiet.
The engine now belongs to the Club.. Just need someone to help me pull it...
It has some miles on it, but runs fine.. _________________ Jake Raby

I have room in the shop, if you need a place to store it.

The Porsche 5 Speed 915 tranny is now completed.. I have all the parts for the engine and Len is finishing the heads in the coming week...
The 1600 is ready to be pulled, so I need a couple of Club Volunteers to come help me pull it and take it to it's new home.. It'll then become Athens VW Club property..
Volunteers?
I hope to have the MassIVe engine done this month and the entire new power train installed by mid next month. _________________ Jake Raby
