Don't be so technical Very Happy Tell us more. Where does it seem to be coming from? Does it just suddenly start? If you push in on the clutch do you still hear it? Any other clues would be helpful.

I would be more technical if i knew anymore about it.It sound like it is coming from the rear(where exactly i dont know). It only does it at 40-45 mph.Pushing in the clutch makes no differance. When the car is coasting at 40 it still roars. The rear axles turn fine and the bearings look ok.

Do you have a roof rack? If not have you tried "loading "the rear wheels to see if it changes.Usually you can swurve left and right and it will get quieter when you take the load of that wheel. So if your rr is bad, when you swing it right it will get quiet and louder to the left. Then again normaly a bearing is noisy at all speeds .

Put a bungee cord across the front of the roof rack. I bet your noise will stop.

Bungee on the rack, table spoon of olive oil in the tank, spritz of bug replant on the bumper, 22psi on the right, 26 on the left, write the letters YFR in a Sharpie marker on the right headlamp and run with your windows 16.256 mm down and this might help as well.

Tried the bungee cord, did not help.I found my hood is a little bent up in the center and letting air in.That might be where the noise is coming from even though it sounds like the rear. Thanks for the post and help.

How about if you take it out of gear at 40-45mph? Or downshift to 3rd and hold it at the same speed?

Or have someone drive along beside you and see if they notice anything?
