Well, I just finished replacing my tie rod ends and steering box and here's my question. I had some" help" saturday and somehow we installed the gear box off center. So now, my steering wheel is 1 1/2 turns right and 1 1/4 turns left. Is this a big enough difference to notice or damage the steering box?

If you're not careful as you steer, you could overstretch a brake hose on the side that turns too far. It needs to be centered for safety.

Last car I fixed like this, just entailed adjusting the tie rods 'til it was equal turns right and left. The pitman arm ought to be perpendicular to the beam when the wheels are straight.

The fact that you noticed this says you're really paying attention.
Good job!

Thanks, when it comes to things like steering and brakes, I like to take it slow and make sure things are right Smile
