I am tring to get my crap wired together so I can be there. Got the hockie stick and the other clutch issue settled. Installed a truss bar tonight before the engine went back in. Still have the carbs/fuel system, bleedin gthe brakes, and the wiring to get done before I can roll out with it. _________________ 1962 "Red Rocket" 2110 Toy

I'm going to cruise to Baldwin and then I'm going to detour to the Habersham airport for a pit stop. Kieth K. is going to help me put the new top on my Thing. I'll come up to Jake's as soon as we finish. _________________ 73 Typ481

Bring the top and have Keith come put it on here..
BTW- We have the new (renovated) building next door completed well enough to allow work to be done on VWs there as well as in our main shop where the chassis dyno is located and the lift.
So you guys will be able to work in MY new shop before I ever get a chance to... Its not 100% yet, but it is a good clean work place for things not requiring the lift.
The old shop is being seriously renovated, so it will be closed for the weekend. We are moving everything from it into the new building after the tech weekend and lots of hazards related to construction exist in that old building. With the new building being utilized we'll have more space than last year.
Cave man, get here as soon as you can on Saturday, I want to get you on the dyno and get the base line numbers and then get the G DOWN exhaust installed for test numbers on Saturday!
Jon,
The engine dyno work will have to be done on Sunday, its supposed to be raining so that will be a better in door activity anyway. I also have a deadline for an engine that hit us today and we may have to dyno that engine on Saturday if Len can't get the heads repaired today.
I am calling Jon to talk about the plans for food and etc now...
Oh yeah, I am back at 100% :-) _________________ Jake Raby

That was what I intended, but he wanted me to come to the airport. Maybe if you called him too, he come up there and do it.
Glad you are feeling better; I hope Beth is better too.
Sunday is fine, whatever works for you. I'll talk to you in a while. _________________ 73 Typ481

We are asking everyone to bring some food to share for lunch and supper on Saturday. Once we see what kind of goodies we have, we will decide if we need to make an Ingles run or not. Beth will be making Bar-b-Q and Jake will also have some burgers and dogs.
Please bring your own drinks. _________________ 73 Typ481

Sounds like a good plan.. Bring what you like and we'll all share..
I have a little bit of Wild Hog left, we'll try to cook some of that up... Just one shoulder and a ham is left, the 30-06 ballistic tip pretty much blew the other shoulder to bits :-) _________________ Jake Raby

I was going to post this reminder about tools. Jake beat me to it, but do bring your own tools and mark them some way or at least keep track of your own tools.
If you have jack stands-bring them. Jake has jacks, but has all his stands in use. _________________ 73 Typ481

I'm hoping to check my valve travel- looking for a cam lobe going flat? If I find consistent lift #s, I'll be trying a Bosch 009 with Pertronix, then a MSD setup, if neccessary. Thanks in advance Jake! _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Juat wanted to say thanks to Jake for his hospitality and help. Also, thanks to everyone who let me use tools (Shane, Sam, Jake, Steve, etc) and helped me get the dual circuit in and going. Made it home no problem. Even stopped by Joey's as I passed through Gainesville. The first time I've ever visited Joey in a VW that I wasn't dropping off for repairs.
Thanks again.
P.S. I loved the wild hog. Jake and his nephew need to start a restaurant. _________________ The Slumlord

Yep, he can cook that stuff up damn good!! There wasn't a single piece left, that was one shoulder and BOTH hams too!
I need to take another trip to round some more up.. That Hog had been eating oranges all it's life... She came from a 90,000 acre Orange Grove :-) _________________ Jake Raby
