2010 Poker Run

Hurray! Two more days before the festivities begin! I'm sorry that I did not post when and exactly where the Poker Run starts. I dropped the ball on that one. As Jon mentioned we'll be starting in downtown Helen behind the Best Western Inn. There is a huge parking lot behind the shopping center next to the Best Western and a public parking lot off the street that we'll use as a staging area just like we did last year with plenty of folks directing people where to line up. We'll have a table set up for registration, drawing poker cards, getting t shirts, printed out directions, and announcements about the run. We'll need to pull out of the staging area no later than 10:30am Saturday morning, so get there early (9-10). Our last stop on the poker run will be Jake's shop (R.A.T.). This is where we'll tally all of the poker hands and award prizes. This year we'll have fewer prizes than in the past, but the quality of the prizes are much greater than before! After the stop at Jake's we'll follow each other back to Helen, and we'll be serving burgers at the host hotel (Super Cool

Our usual staging area is occupied by campers. We will all be meeting in the Cabana Mexican Restaraunt next to the Dollar store. Look for VWs and you will find us.

The best poker run yet!! No break downs, no horrific crashes and the best weather I can remember having for a run!

Beth and I enjoyed having you guys, sorry about all the wind and dust.. I wish we would have had all the paving done, I guess its a miracle that we've gotten as much done as we have, though...

I hate I missed out on years past. Me and my dad had a blast! It was a fun ride. I'm not even mad that Jon fixd the draw so he would win that tin. Laughing

Jake, even though the paving wasn't done the property still looks alot better than it did at tech day. Thanks to everyone who makes this event happen. I really enjoyed it! Cool

Thanks to Jon for taking care of the shirts, registrations, securing sponsors, getting the sponsor recognition sign made, and other stuff. Thanks to Steve for a route that was less up and downish, and the shirt design. Steve, Joe and James for grillin'. Great run! What a relief, no big incidents!

Thanks for a great time this weekend, top notch organization and super crowd. Shirts are cool, grill-out was excellent if a little - or a lot- chilly! (fix that next time?) Pete hopes nobody disgraced themselves in the pool. (he usually does). By far the best cruise! And no mishaps. Looking forward to Poker Run 7!
